Terms of Use
1. Who we are
MentoringIn ("MentoringIn", "we", "us") is operated by CMC Biologics and Organizational Consulting Limited, a Pennsylvania limited liability company. Questions: hello@mentoringin.com.
2. Who can use MentoringIn
You must be at least 18 years old. Use your real name and accurate information, keep one account per person, and keep your password safe. You're responsible for activity on your account.
3. What MentoringIn is — and isn't
MentoringIn connects people who want to grow (mentees) with experienced volunteers (mentors) for peer guidance. It's free for mentors and mentees. Mentors are not our employees or agents. Mentoring on MentoringIn is lived experience and peer guidance — not legal, medical, mental-health, financial or other professional advice — unless a mentor lists a verified license on their profile, and even then a mentorship here does not create a professional–client relationship. See our Mentoring Disclaimer.
4. Mentors
To mentor you need 10+ years of professional experience and must complete verification. Verification is a reasonable check of the details you provide; it is not a background check or a guarantee. Mentors agree to stay in touch, keeping in regular contact by message, email or a call (about once a month suits most pairs) and replying to messages within a few days; never to sell or promote services to their mentees, on MentoringIn or outside it; to share lived experience rather than legal, medical, mental-health, financial or other professional advice unless they list a verified license; to keep what their mentees share confidential, unless someone's safety is at risk; and never to ask for or share any employer's or company's confidential or proprietary information, such as trade secrets, unpublished data, internal plans, pricing or client details. We may remove a mentor's verification or access at any time.
5. How mentorships work
Mentees can start up to 5 new mentorships in any 12 months (waiting requests count). Mentors guide 1–5 mentees at a time; most mentors start with 1–2 (up to 2 while verification is pending). Mentorships run 3–6 months as agreed. After 2 sessions either person can end a mentorship without penalty; a mentee who ends one before 2 sessions uses that slot. Ending three or more mentorships early within 12 months may pause new requests for 30 days; ending over a safety or conduct concern never counts.
6. Community rules
Don't harass, threaten, discriminate against or demean anyone; don't send spam or unsolicited promotions; don't ask for or offer payment outside MentoringIn; don't share anyone's private information without permission; don't impersonate anyone or create fake accounts; don't use MentoringIn for anything illegal or to scrape or misuse data. Don't ask for or share confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer or company. Messages can't be edited or deleted so there's a fair record if something is reported.
7. Safety, reports and enforcement
You can block or report anyone. We review reports and may read the reported conversation or content to do so. We may warn, pause, suspend or remove accounts and content that break these Terms. If you're in danger, contact local emergency services first.
8. Your content
You own what you post (profile, goals, notes, messages). You give us a limited license to store, process and display it only to run MentoringIn as described in our Privacy Policy. Thank-you notes appear on a mentor's profile only if the mentor chooses.
9. The Growth Hexagon
The Growth Hexagon is a self-reflection tool. It is not a clinical, psychological or hiring assessment and shouldn't be used to make decisions about anyone's employment, health or eligibility for anything.
10. Links and third parties
We may link to books, websites or video tools we don't control. We're not responsible for them.
11. No guarantees
MentoringIn is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee matches, outcomes, availability, or the accuracy of what members share.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for the conduct of any member, on or off MentoringIn. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $100.
13. Your responsibility
You agree to cover reasonable losses we incur because you broke these Terms or the law.
14. Leaving MentoringIn
You can stop using MentoringIn at any time. To delete your account, email support@mentoringin.com from your account email. We can suspend or end access for breaches of these Terms.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. If changes are significant we'll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. Using MentoringIn after that means you accept the new Terms.
16. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
